Maybe Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes, but in this two-tank certified dive, you get to swim with the Caribbean reef sharks!

After being picked up on the pier for your Nassau excursion, you will transfer to the dive shop, 45 minutes away. Once you have filled out the required paperwork, you will suit up and head out. This two-tank dive program introduces thrill-seeking divers to wild sharks and provides you a close-up look at these magnificent and misunderstood creatures. There are currently four sites where you may dive with the sharks. You will dive either the combination of "Shark Wall" and "The Arena," or the combination of "Shark Wall North" and "The Runway." At either location, you will encounter a gathering of Caribbean reef sharks on a consistent basis.

Your first dive with the sharks is along a magnificent wall where the sharks swim calmly along with the divers in a non-feeding environment. Your second dive is on a large sand patch, where the group kneels down in a semi-circle and watches your dive master feed the sharks off of a long pole. Dozens of 5 to 6 foot Caribbean reef sharks swim amongst everyone and come within touching distance of all of the divers (although no touching is allowed!).

Please Note: Tanks and weights are included in the price. Any additional equipment is not included but is available to rent at the dive shop. A video and photos are taken of each dive, and are available to watch and purchase once back at the dive shop. High-quality digital prints are also available for purchase.

Bradford J. Miller
Mr. Miller is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Abercrombie & Kent, the World's leading luxury travel company. In that role, Mr. Miller was responsible for contributing to Abercrombie & Kent's international growth through the development and acquisition of tour products and travel experiences around the world with a specific focus on cruising and land based experiences. Prior to joining Abercrombie & Kent, Mr. Miller held a variety of executive positions with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises for more than a decade. These positions included Vice President of Guest Sales & Service, Vice President of Brand Development, and Vice President of Onboard Revenue (which included shore excursions). Mr. Miller also led Celebrity Expeditions, a collection of outstanding and unique tours around the World.

Michael Bonner
Mr. Bonner has over a decade of experience working in the cruise industry in a variety of roles for both Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Viking River Cruises. Most recently, Mr. Bonner was the Chief Operating Officer for The Scholar Ship, a Royal Caribbean program aimed at providing college students onboard educational programs in conjunction with enriching shore excursions around the world. Mr. Bonner also helped co-manage Viking River Cruises U.S. Operations, and he ran the corporate, strategic, and deployment planning functions at Royal Caribbean. While at Royal Caribbean, Mr. Bonner was responsible for forming Royal Celebrity Tours, Royal Caribbean's land-based tour operation in Alaska, which takes cruise passengers on multiple day tours through the interior of Alaska either before or after their cruises. Prior to working at Royal Caribbean, Mr. Bonner was a consultant for Booz Allen & Hamilton.

Special Instructions

We recommend wearing your bathing suit under comfortable clothing that may get splashed. Sensible, rubber-soled shoes are recommended. A towel, sunglasses, and sunscreen (biodegradable preferred) are also suggested. Each participant is required to wear a full wetsuit with long sleeves and legs. Wetsuits can be rented at the dive shop.

Restrictions

This dive is for certified divers only. Divers who have not logged a dive within the last 3 years will be required to complete a refresher program prior to joining any scheduled dives. A valid C-card and picture ID will be required at check in. Guests need to be in good physical health and cannot have asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, a personal history of heart attacks or heart problems, strokes, or recently-diagnosed high blood pressure. Persons taking antidepressant medications or other potential contraindicated medications, and pregnant women may not participate. Guests must be able to equalize their ears without problems, as they would in an airplane. Young children must be of adequate size to fit into the equipment, and capable of carrying a 40 pound tank on their back. Children under the age of 18 must participate with a parent or guardian, and be a minimum of 4 years of age to be on board the vessel. Health restrictions apply, and a waiver and medical statement is required to be filled out by all participants. Please look at the following example: PADI Health Questionnaire If you cannot pass the questionnaire, or do not have the required physician's statement, you will not be permitted to dive. Guests not able to dive will not be entitled to a refund, so please look at the questionnaire BEFORE booking this tour.
